WhistlinDiesel's Killdozer 2.0 -- 155,000 Pounds of Armored Absurdity
YouTube demolition king Cody Detwiler spent nine months and approximately $200,000 recreating one of the most infamous machines in American history -- the Killdozer. Starting with a vintage Komatsu D355A bulldozer sourced from Montana, Detwiler and a team of 35 welders encased the beast in two layers of bulletproof steel armor and filled the gaps with concrete, adding 38,000 pounds of custom protection to the already massive machine. The finished Killdozer 2.0 tips the scales at approximately 155,000 pounds -- 40,000 pounds heavier than an M1 Abrams military tank. Equipped with camera systems, gun portholes, and reinforced hatches designed to a hundredth of a millimeter using CAD software, the machine was unleashed on a field of junked cars in a controlled demolition that included a tug-of-war with an actual tank. The multi-episode build series documented every step of the process, from sourcing the bulldozer to the final welding pass, and collectively generated millions of views across WhistlinDiesel's channel. The project required fabricating armor plates that had to be both bulletproof and precisely fitted -- a combination of military-grade engineering and backyard ambition that defines what TRWRB celebrates.
At 155,000 pounds with 38,000 pounds of custom-welded armor, this is the heaviest YouTube-built armored vehicle ever created. 35 welders, 9 months, CAD-designed armor plates.
