Ben Robertson's 800-HP Compound Turbo Hayabusa Go-Kart
Australian builder Ben Robertson of the YouTube channel Snail TV took a 1,340cc Suzuki Hayabusa superbike engine -- already one of the most powerful production motorcycle engines ever made -- and decided it needed two turbochargers. Not one. Two. Arranged in a compound configuration with one at the front and one at the rear, the setup runs up to 120 PSI of boost through a FuelTech FT550 engine management system and produces a dyno-verified 800 horsepower. For context, that is more power than a Lamborghini Aventador, packed into a vehicle that weighs less than a refrigerator. The custom-built frame features a Sparco steering wheel, dual display screens, Mickey Thompson junior dragster slicks, and a jet-black finish that makes it look like something Batman would use for grocery runs. The biggest engineering challenge has been keeping the axles alive -- Robertson has gone through multiple drivetrain iterations trying to build components that can survive the torque of an 800-horsepower engine in a 400-pound chassis. The build series went viral across YouTube, TikTok, and automotive media outlets including The Drive and Motor1, with each episode pushing closer to the question everyone wants answered: what happens when you actually floor it?
